Pebbles

I threw a pebble into the ocean.
it reverberated back to my feet.
I threw a couple more into the water.
it frizzled and wrinkled into a fleet.

I kept the pebbles in my fist.
the ocean spoke in waves.
I opened my fist and let the pebbles drop and roll.
They rolled and rolled until they’ve become drops of sands.
