Race

thighs are burning
throat is dry
jaws are clenching
teeth are grinding
fists gripped tight
as if to pulling the air
thrusting the body forward

time has never been too tangible
limits of free moving body lamentable

but don’t give up the race yet!
it ain’t over till it’s over.
