Pebble

it rained all day and all night.

muddied and bruised all over,

it laid down on a puddle staring at the sky.

As it saw each raindrops mesmerizingly fall

Trickling, buzzing, and roaring to the earth.

slowly, the pebble, too, sang,

a song to the sky, one beholden to all
