Share the meal.
Have a heart-to-heart talk.
Stay together at all times,
in spirit, in principle, in creed.
Carry each one’s own load, and the some.
Come back.
Remember your own.

come, stay and let's talk. it's a good day to be alive
Share the meal.
Have a heart-to-heart talk.
Stay together at all times,
in spirit, in principle, in creed.
Carry each one’s own load, and the some.
Come back.
Remember your own.

When the birds start chirping,
like a shards of glass in a glass jar,
Spinning around and working
the noise in circles to hear from afar,
Close your eyes for a moment.
Close your ears for a moment.
And let it all out.
No one to apologize. Just let it out.
No time for stoics, heroes or whatnot.
Just hold on. Grip it tight and let it all out.

Know this: that kid in the corner of the room
who quietly slurps down handful of honey,
he’s been the one protecting us.
Protect him. Be kind to him.
Guide him. Be happy for him.
Embrace him. Be there for him.

Would you rather walk barefoot on a dirt road together
than to walk on a red carpet of ivory marble floor alone?
Would you shower in the golden spotlight with glory
than to kindle a wooden stove fire on a dark winter night?
Would you look the other way
than to weave a grass bow for those to come later?

For a split moment, it was there, I tell you.
I saw the fresh, warm, and glowing light:
it sparked in the middle of a grey haze of confusion.
The confusion – it’s hard to put a finger on it –
it’s like today is like yesterday, and yesterday like ten years ago.
it’s like the dream is waking hours and waking hours like a dream.
But when you see the spark, your skin feels just right –
it’s as if time no longer binds you to where you are now –
as if you have been where you are supposed to be all this time.
let’s play, dance, run, chat, laugh, walk, sing, hum, smile.
let’s embrace, rejoice, pray, remember, tribute, welcome.
let’s listen, see, feel, understand, meditate, contemplate.

Son, forget this madness.
All this rage, bitterness, and brooding is getting you nowhere.
Hold on to the memories of love, grace, and gratitude.
Let go of hurt, disappointment, and loss.
Look at what remains and celebrate.
Release your pride, ego, and glory.
Find peace in humbleness.
Seek to create light in dark,
shelter to the lost,,
and warmth for the cold.

All of my thorns, loud talks, and swagger
are evidence of my imperfection.
Foolish things I have done enough,
yet the end of this parade appear blurry.
So, thank you, for bearing with me.
For showing me what grace looks like,
For not poking at my blatant inadequacy,
and for showing me a glimpse of righteous way.

Son, in the village of salt houses,
there’s no one to mourn for your loss
when the rain is pouring down from above.
it ain’t nobody’s fault when all things implode.
don’t wait around.
if you can stand, find and help others.
if you can tribute the passed, do so.
You won’t be around all day too.
So make it count.

like a slow-moving mountain on a horizon
after a long-period of blurry trees through a train window,
I saw my former self in a shell I left behind,
one I longed to break through in my mind.
it tells a story:
a mind never fixates in one pebble
it flows like a river from the mountain
ever shape-shifting, from roaring rumble
to a serenly calm fjor of chieftain
so while my mind is clear now
let me imprint in a script
you may not know how
but you have been loved while you lived.
remember as long as you can
and give to others, as others have done to you.
