of which, with only humbleness, one thrives

it’s bright and hot
but after chasing it down the road
all you get is vainglory
thrill, scars, and title
what do they do for you?
in a world
where a door to another world
is just a fraction of a second away
in a world
where thousands of hours of preparation
is just for this one moment

perhaps you can live without
that fire.

빛이 있으면 때때로
그에 빛나는 것들에 의해 마비가 되곤 한다
끝 없이 넓은 사막, 바다, 산을 보면 그렇다.
어둠이 안 좋기도 하지만
무궁무진한 가능성을 갖기도 하다

often, darkness is associated with sadness
it’s a metaphoric atmosphere for nightmare
if you are surrounded by darkness
do know this one piece of fact.
consider, the light.
it reveals how vast the world is:
the ocean, the desert, the mountain, so on.
do you dare take a step forward
in the presence of such greatness?
paralysis takes in before you know about it.
then, consider darkness.
you may still be paralyzed out of fear
fear of not knowing what’s ahead.
but you may also dare to go forward
for you don’t see what’s laid ahead.
perhaps you’ll find something in the end
perhaps you won’t.
and, oftentimes, darkness doesn’t last
forever.
so, when you are surrounded by the darkness
I hope this piece of knowledge
will serve you as a warm glow
encouraging you to grow

waking up under a winter morning sunshine
listening to quiet liveliness of summer night
heartening arrival of spring from cold wind
fragments of memories may be precious

a lucky fragment will bud.
