Dog park
it’s a Cold War in the middle of park
a dog playground filled with dogs’ barks
human owners awkwardly standing around
neither acknowledging nor neglecting; just frown
upon their iPhones and their dog leash
not to lose them nor to hurt them at least
spending time just like a scarecrow
there, but not there, if you know
what I mean.

Rock
rock just stayed there
never cared for where
others have gathered
but just squatted there
rain showered, wind blew, dog pooped
grass grew, trashes were strewn,
sun rose to spoon, playing catch with moon
a couple swooned, together laid in tomb
soon, the rock understood
it was good to be in the hood
