come, stay and let's talk. it's a good day to be alive
we chose to fight.
not all of them, but some.
we paid the price:
time, attention, passion.
in return, we won experience,
wisdom, and compassion.
our hearts might have bled,
skins tougher, our eyes sharper
but I hope we keep on going forward
for the brighter future
and for those who follow us.

no one has seen anyone speaking of
not even news, movies, or books talk about it
it’s only passed down
from a father to a son,
from a mother to a daughter.
it’s a code, a rule, a manual.
so listen, when you father or mother talks
even if your ego gets in the way

the stain stays.
with time it fades,
but it won’t disappear
pray you don’t cross this river
for it won’t be the same from there

I’d like to see a world
where we honor those who work.
those who sacrificed their comfort
for the cause of greater good;
for the truth, for the people, for the belief.
regardless of age, race, or class,
I would respect that person.

it’s rather a relaxing descent
slowly spending what is left
absent of coffee and meals,
my mind is floating free
I care less of what others need
I follow what my gut feels to be true
to be curious, to be honest, and to be fair
that’s all I care
for whatever amount of time I can spare.

faster and stronger lines of thoughts.
more decisive and executive resolutions.
it is the way of a light bringer, a trail blazer, a guide.
I hope that serendipitous moment will arrive

I hope that you know
I think about you quite often.
each time
before the sun rise
before I close my eyes
perhaps there will be a day when we meet.
perhaps we’ll know for sure
what we want for ourselves.

to bring forth such kindness?
