To prevent the rain drop on your hair follicles,
to keep your saliva from drooling down your lips,
to protect you from falling down to the floor,
I, we, have designed a net to catch you.
To be ready, to be alert, and to be strong enough to withstand the hardship,
we have readied for this moment.
We will be with you.

As long as we are putting our best foot forward,
we can accomplish
what felt amorphous
into tangible beings.
Let’s expand our mind,
and explore what matters beneath
all of its shells and intricacies.

Line
Why was I afraid to cross the line?
Like a cat grabbed by the neck,
maybe an instinct kicked in,
saving the kid I knew awhile ago
lying dormant in sweet dreams.
But now, all I see is merely a line I drew.
And as I learned to draw more lines,
better, with thoughts instilled in them,
I felt it easier to breath,
freer to roam about,
and more familiar of what used to be mine.

If you feel small
because others look bigger,
remember that everything comes from ash,
and return as ash.
Believe that the moment you lived, witnessed, and shared
are just as valued as theirs.
Open your chest wide.
They won’t touch a hair of yours.
Love the moment as true as you can.

Although they aren’t with you now,
they remain in your memory.
It was as real as the ground you stand on now.
Part of it will fudge here and there in the corners
but the warmth of their presence,
the scent of the moment
will remain true in your heart.

It’s slow in growth,
but keeps you grounded.
Change is imperceptible,
yet, undoubtedly, it’s real.
You may find yourself doubting its worth,
but when the sky roars and thrashes about,
you will know what it was all about.

Warmth
Like a smile, it is bound to be ephemeral.
It is soft and fragile like a white tissue of paper.
As ephemeral as the sweet taste of the cotton candy
dissolves on the tip of a tongue,
it dissipates into the memory.
A cold winter may be ahead, but cherish this moment fully.
Embrace it, soak your senses in it, and bask in its glow.
Believe you will rise even if it rains.
Do not dwell at the shallow water. Go forth.

Instead of chasing after the bread crumbs,
look back at your foot steps
and wonder what kind of impressions
you have left upon others.
In the end,
didn’t how you treated others leave you a stronger mark
than how many bread crumbs you’d collected?

In spite of all these scars,
all I had hoped was for you to be okay.
Looking at your eyes, I see all is good.
I am glad I did not relent to resentment.
I am glad there was warmth.
