when I run into a mishap
I wonder what bad thing I had done in the past.
when a hair follicle falls from my head,
when a ball of ice-cream falls from my cone,
or when I was supposed to be on a Zoom meeting an hour ago,
I dig into my memory bag,
looking for a piece of memory
where I had to apologize.
then it feels rather fair;
the world we live in.

Scent of rain

the season has arrived!
the sky is covered in grey clouds
brooding something mystical
the trees shaking its branches in waves
as gust of wind blows
in the shadows, you can feel it:
there is something magical in all this.
perhaps it foretells a storm to come
nevertheless I love this stormy breeze
under the grey cloudy sky.

Cleaning

it’s no easy task; figuring out
how the drainage works,
buying the right equipment, experimenting
with different drainage solutions.
But I’d say it was worth my time
fixing this filthy thing I’d prefer to avoid
take up on a piece of dirty responsibility
I’d need to face one way or another
And after all, it is not too bad
staring at this now shiny sink.
yes, it’s one task I’m bound to see again,
but until next time, please fare fair with me.

New people

it is hard to tell when to cross a line
or when to cross a line
when I meet new people.
How many personas does one need to have?
such different group of people
such different meaning behind gestures
such different attitudes and behaviors
new suddenly becomes old
and old quickly becomes forgotten.
who do I remember from the past
and what promise do I live up to?
