Forgive

Son, forget this madness.

All this rage, bitterness, and brooding is getting you nowhere.

Hold on to the memories of love, grace, and gratitude.

Let go of hurt, disappointment, and loss.

Look at what remains and celebrate.

Release your pride, ego, and glory.

Find peace in humbleness.

Seek to create light in dark,

shelter to the lost,,

and warmth for the cold.

Bug

at first, I noticed a few things missing;
a little bit of food, a few notebooks,
and then a few photos.
I started to wonder if there was a bug;
a bug that gnaws at precious things.
I called an exterminator, but it didn’t stop.
I remembered: whatever you resist persists.
so I invited the bug to be a friend;
besides, there are a few people I call friends
and had spent much more dinners with them
than what I had lost to this bug.
if the bug will take what it will take regardless,
why not get to know the bug while at it?
forgive the ugly part, and move on with goods.

Ticket

Everyone has their last shot

To shoot at someone

And everyone is pointing their target with their weapon at all times.

No one knows when it will trigger,

And no one knows when they’ll change their target.

Whether what comes out of their weapon is a teardrop, am innocent smile, or a sharp loaded question, no one knows.

You kneel and pray that you’ll come out of safe and sound.

But the rule is, everyone points to something at all the time.
