Purpose
I remember the crisp air, clear sunlight
elegantly, silently laying down on a balcony
of a wooden library deck through tree branches
as I sat still in a chair, staring up to the sky.
A sense of invigorating purpose
beaming within me resonated with the scene.
It is my wish that I will remember it all
as I march into a new chapter.

Like a slime, time slides by in tides
Frightened by tight schedule,
one might make a mistake in spite
of all the efforts to avoid it.
Don’t be too hard on yourself,
others may forgive you as well.
Rather, seek to find your harmony
For the answer may be found within.

Even if it may sound dumb
I will repeat it over and over
that I love you.
World may change,
people may change,
ideas may change,
but I still love you.

Essence
As if to awake myself
just before falling into deep sleep,
I reached my hand out to grasp
the passing memories of the past.
The trees that reach out its branch like outstretched hands
still remained vividly in my memory
as I stared down at the old tree trunk
its rings stopped like a clock hands.
I pulled my gaze up
and started to walk towards the unknown horizon
knowing this moment of peace may not last
and it’s the fight against the time to reach the goal before it all ends.

For now, this is what I can say.
When the old and the new spiral,
remember to keep your rhythm.
A few leaves may turn brown and fall,
but the trunk of a tree withstands the winter.

All is right when you make the decision.

Promise
As I wake up in the morning,
I am yet again facing the aftermath
of breaking the promise to myself
that I would go to bed early.
I wake up and ponder yet again
what has gone wrong.
Haven’t I made a solemn promise?
Was my resolution not strong enough?
So, again, a solution is sought.
New resolutions are made,
a forgiveness is given,
and a new hope is molded.

Refinement
Thanks to you,
the world shined brighter.
My eyes filled with wonder,
my lungs could breath the warm air easily,
and my heart ran as freely as it can.
You’ve taught me the world can be molded with my hands
with a vision imagined through my mind’s eye.
Day after day, I am relishing the lesson.
