at the end of a long walk,
how would you react
when someone tells you
you walked a wrong way?
would you choose to believe it?
what guides your truth?
what guides your values,
your principles?
at the end of the day,

do you have what it takes to see
what is real?

Beginning
staring into the dot,
I saw only the dot.
the more I stared at it though,
I started to see something else.
I started to appreciate how it stays here
when it could have been anywhere.
I appreciate how it encompasses opposite
of blankness.
I appreciate how we all are eventually
a dot, like itself, when seen from far, far away.
I started to see the world, the life, all encompassed.
I appreciated the dot.

before we ask for what we want
let us pull up our sleeves
and search for ways
we can build to get what we want.
and let us want what we think is right
and lead ourselves through the unknowns.

a shining window opened
even before I knew where to look.
it was glorious,
not because it was merely good,
but because I saw years of dedication
in building this window.
humbled, I took the opportunity,
and vowed to pay forward.

hubris builds up on us
likes moss in a wet forest
therefore, we must run;
run toward our best version,
with everything we have.
and then we will see our true selves,

perhaps it’s worthwhile
setting aside the pride
and get along for once.

for all of us
