Cats

a cat in desperate flight is one none can catch
it will claw its way,
tearing apart the shower curtains,
flapping its arms about
heading towards who knows where
blinded by its own instinct
it’s covered in dust and goo
forcing the human to put it back to the tub
to wash off the dirts.
it repeats again and again
hearting both the human and the cat
until one tires out
or the shower is done.

Plastic bag

be ware of the plastic bag
it’s chasing after you
faster than you are walking away
maybe it finally got upset
to be forsaken on the street like that
maybe it will lash out its vengeance

oh wait
it’s just passing by
I guess it was just pushed by the hard winds
yeah, what can a plastic bag do?
but you know, I heard
global warming might bring wind and some
who knows, the plastic bag,
maybe it wanted to tell you something.

Old friend

hi there.
I apologize for not realizing you were here.
perhaps it was negligent on my part.
I appreciate all the work you put in to help.
in its crude form, I can see what you meant.
now, together, let’s pave our way
towards one we feel right
instead of blindly rushing forward.
I believe we can do it together.
I have trust in our potential.

Bud

after years of tearful rains,
layers of sediments
an adventure of a naive hero,
a bud peaks its head above the ground.
for a passerby, I wonder if they understand
the significance of this incipient bud
gradually reaching towards the sun,
becoming a sort of a giant in the process.
for the bud to peak its head,
there were many prayers, tears, and sacrifices
I hope they will understand
whoever the passerby may be.
