Existence

given infinite possibilities of decisions
in each lightening fast moments
predicting future based on present moment
opens a door to versatile visions

in the vast ocean of information
I am swimming fast and faster
exhausted, I lay my back on the water
and stare at the stars in the dark sky
and realized the answer was there all along.

Raison

I wonder if I unleashed Pandora for myself.
boredom of living in a small town is real.
I’ve endured strikes of lightening bolts
withstood the weight of the ocean
and bled thousands of cuts by the others.
through it all, I brew one soul, one heart.
yet I wonder, what is the meaning of all this?
why go through such inglorious, tedious path?
perhaps, it is the path that I must take.
raison d’être. c’est toute.

Ice Whale

this blue feeling is like a giant whale
swimming quietly in deep dark ocean
solemnly, redoubtably, moves it does.
inevitable, chilling effect its presence has.
yet, we swim. Mechanically, effortfully we move.
glimpse of the night sky,
blips of scattered star above high
we move and we hope it will be worthwhile.

어둡고 춥지만
우린 앞으로 나아가야만 한다.
수 많은 이들과 했는 약속을 기억하며.

Serendipity

it could be a chance glance on a subway train
it could be a scent in a spring breeze
it could be a punchline in a children’s book
but when it hits you like a wall of ocean waves
and you let it soak in every waking minute
you might start noticing the world suits you
like an Italian cashmere suit tailored for you.
you. only you.

기쁘지 아니한가
우연의 일치로
몸에 맞는 세상을 만난다는것이

Scribbling

scribbling on an iPad
as if to set it on fire
words float in mind
like cereals in the ocean
of oat milk

rub them well, squeeze them tight,
but they won’t stick
and morph into ugly
before you know it

yet, you row
row like there is a final stop
row like you will be saved
row like there will be an end
to this suffering one day

Ocean tears

hailing down through stratosphere
riding through rumbling clouds
on a lightening strike, a crack
through the mountain.
drifting down roots of trees,
tortuous river, and overflowing
lakes, comes to the body of ocean.

and the ocean greeted,
an amalgamation of multitude
of tears, who’ve traveled through
the sorrow and the honor.
and now they were home.

24 hours

At first, it’s too long,

Then later, it’s too short.

Just as you’ve turned your 4th page of your moleskin notebook with a pilot G-2 0.5 pen,

It’s 7:30 PM and now you push the floor away from your chest as hard as you can

Then a question arises: “is an isolation a poison?”

Panic sinks in, four limbs plunging in

To the ocean of screens spinning in

The seconds, minutes, hours, and days

But remember, the time won’t stay.
