gracefully laying sunshine on greeneries

small fjor of water slowly flowed
blue bell flowers bowed like nuns in covenant
peonies gleamed like happy hippos
blue sky smiled gracefully
I wondered if I was dreaming
everything looked perfect as they were

did you realize silence is a luxury?
clouded by loneliness, it might be hard to see
but, ah well, just experience it. You’ll see.
you’ll see the beauty in serene atmosphere
you’ll find peace of mind
uninterrupted by intruders
for who are to stop the intruders from making noise?
what and how would you stop those from making noise?
once you’ve realized the cost
you come to appreciate the prize
but one must wonder:
what was the true cost here?
we must live together as human beings
but we also crave to have our own haven.

gap between image in mind and image in reality
is one that is fascinatingly flexible one
images formulated in mind shapes reality
and reality imprints the mind in a pattern
to wield the imagination and form it
wouldn’t you say it contains potential?

dream keeps us alive and young, I believe.
achievements we thought were impossible
experiences we thought were nonexistent
can be accomplished with a faith in dreams
dreamers may trip and fall
but when they reach the other side of horizon
all of it would be worth it.

once in awhile, I let myself walk in the rain
letting raindrops hit against my body
it’s liberating, somehow
like a tower of sand I built as a child
shells of some kind around body starts melting
as the raindrop seeps into my heart
I wonder what it is about the rain
that brings this gravitas

it would almost always at dusk
on the beach, as the air gets colder
I’d finish building the castle
with wet muddy sand of the beach
yes, I wasn’t naive to believe
it would be there the next week I come
but the soft, malleable, and wet sand
is what I remember
and the smile that warmed my face

be gentle for a moment
instead of walking to hit each other
talking as if to run away from another
staring as if to judge the other
can we see each other just as we are
stop hiding, running, and insulting
can we just, for a moment,
acknowledge each other?

it was a small, but a clean flat restaurant
with a picture of Venice port on the wall
I’d walk up to the counter and ask for
chicken shawarma
they’d ask if I wanted all
and indeed I wanted them all
fluffy fresh dough bread covered in sandy grains
even softer melted white mozzarella
on top of juicy chicken meat
laid around crispy and watery vegetables
that mixed and mingled into a harmony
I remember the shawarma
I ate with a can of Red Bull
after a work out in an underground gym
