sitting alone at a round table desk,
emails are answered, schedules are checked,
and apologies and promises are made
on a metal bodied laptop monitor.

business as usual, the only noise in the air
is one from left corner where two people
snickers at something uneavesdropped.
someone coughs, someone shakes their leg.

Tears dropped from yawning.
As if to brush aside the tears,
I scroll down my iPhone mini
to find a single red dot of a notification.

it was the long waited message.
long waited, it had become a hope,
a dream and a legend, and then
a disappointing reality eventually.
So: “oh.”
the moments we dream seem always wetter
than the arid reality we actually meet.

24 hours

At first, it’s too long,

Then later, it’s too short.

Just as you’ve turned your 4th page of your moleskin notebook with a pilot G-2 0.5 pen,

It’s 7:30 PM and now you push the floor away from your chest as hard as you can

Then a question arises: “is an isolation a poison?”

Panic sinks in, four limbs plunging in

To the ocean of screens spinning in

The seconds, minutes, hours, and days

But remember, the time won’t stay.

Paper

As if it was poked with a sharp metal stick,

My left thigh suddenly buzzed and squeezed its muscle downwards

‘Am I dreaming now?’ Is someone poking in my brain while I am asleep?

Then I began to suspect the clear blue sky, perfectly round soft-looking clouds, and pixels of green leaves flickering sunlight in a wave when the breeze passes by.

Am I awake? More grumbled I was, as I imagined all the goods that could have been deprived of me.

Then I continued reading about romans learning the new ways from the greek, and how one of the greek was so stubborn that they drove themselves to the death.

I wrote: I live, for there is a justice that I must defend. I live, for there is the ultimate truth somewhere in this world I am conscious. I live, for what I am certain I know of.

It’s another fight.
