I talk grand and smart.
but in the end,
I wanted to be seen and appreciated.
to be acknowledged for the work I have done
and get a light pat on the back,
telling myself I have done a good work.

I see your warmth, your kindness, and goodness.
I realize I’ve been basking in your good mood.
I appreciate our connectedness

over time builds up their own sediments
muddies the mind towards the end of the day
‘strike the iron while it’s hot’, they say
it’s another reminder
that our days are numbered
whatever you do,
to sleep, to play, or to work,
give it your best.

shining brightly, traveling across universe —

they won’t hold you back anymore
the moment your dreams soar into air

embrace all the flaws and the shortcomings
it will be a glorious day
