Laugh

I am not sure what happened
I saw events brewing from afar
roiling waters of sadness
I braved myself for the impact

then I found the world to be funny
I laughed at the face of a lion
and joked about how sharp its fangs are
when it was time to close the shop
I found my spirit to be resilient
and I was okay.

and I wondered.
if it is the grieving of the past
that gave me the strength.

Tempest

I saw the clouds gathering from the distance, but chose to walk into the fray, mingling with thundering clouds

Some roared, some meekly passed by, some were quite solemn. Yet, the mission was the same: ride the moment and leave no prisoners behind.

Quite apparently, they were quick to leave those who fell behind. Jumping and running, screaming and unapologetically happy, the clouds shook the city, leaving all to wonder what has gotten into them.

I played along, clapping and laughing, wowing and hollering. And in the end, I was buzzed, a bit of wind knocked out of me, I treaded back to my sanctuary, hammering the seams steady.

Yes, it was fun and all. Yes, they were lovely. Now, let me just continue the path that I walked and finish my story.

Promise

Lips of green tree leaves touch
On a peacefully quiet summer evening
Smooth sliver of wind loftily engulfs both
Holding each other softly close caressing

In darkness, their shapes dissolve
Wholly together, throbbing halves evolve
Into stream of movements, rumbling,
Rolling, and spinning together twinkling

A morning comes, a clear drew rests on
Each of their forehead, cooling off, or
Shedding tears, unexpected, unpracticed
Smiling into each other, satisfied.
