Even if you feel like everyone’s pointing their fingers at you,

even if you feel those you trusted hurt you back,

and even if you feel taken advantage of,

Let us dance.

Yes, you have hurt a plenty of people.

Yes, you have tried to manipulate others.

Yes, you have betrayed their trust and expectations.

For now, let us dance.

Let our hearts sooth,

let our heads sway,

let our feet float.

Slowly, and surely,

let us rejoice this simple joy

of being here, with each other,

at this moment.

Levity

I walked into a cafe,

and heard someone say my name.

I thought I misheard; or thought she was calling someone with the same name —

but not, she stared straight into my eyes,

and asked, “do you want your usual?”

I said yes — and she pulled out the royal English breakfast tea in a mug cup with the right size.

I sheepishly took my cup and sat in my table.

Her matter-of-fact attitude as she welcomed,

the face that she remembered my name,

and what I usually drink felt like an honor.

It’s a wonderful experience not encountered so frequently.

Just like the warmth of the tea in my hand,

I felt the warmth and levity in my heart.

Shine

To see one glow so brightly with wit and humor

is such a gift that most unknowingly receive.

Unassuming compassion and empathy

is the utmost form of humanity.

While I find sorrow in knowing the acquaintance must come to an end,

I vow to remember it as long as my strength allows me to,

and hope that one day I can emulate at least

a tenth of the warmth unto others when the time comes.

Untrammeled

Recognize the damage done by your pride.

If you can forgive yourself,

let it go.

You didn’t know.

Even if you are all by yourself,

even if you have taken a few steps backwards,

let’s keep going.

It might take awhile.

It might not be much.

But at least let’s keep it going.

There’s so much yet we have to see.

And who knows, someone may be waiting for you.
