but it is a noble thing to do.
to care for others than yourself,
and honoring their way of life.
but foremost of all,
remember to take care of yourself.
life comes and goes,
yet we are here to dance.

not only a whole day
can be ruined
with a foggy mind,
but your relationships
may also be in a dire place.
tend to your mind and body
and honor those
who show grace to you.

staring into the dot,
I saw only the dot.
the more I stared at it though,
I started to see something else.
I started to appreciate how it stays here
when it could have been anywhere.
I appreciate how it encompasses opposite
of blankness.
I appreciate how we all are eventually
a dot, like itself, when seen from far, far away.
I started to see the world, the life, all encompassed.
I appreciated the dot.

know that you will be okay
even if you give this portion of yourself
a portion of your time and attention
and the other will be content in knowing
we have shared something together.
suffering may be the inevitable
for all of us
but let us make it endurable
as we live on the earth together.

as if opening a plugged sink hole,
I opened my attention to others.
as if a visiting storm, words flew by.
I stood and caught them all,
trying to read what it means underneath.
they were concerned.
they were frustrated.
they were reminiscing.
when I saw them,
they saw me seeing them.
and it was a good feeling
like a clear quiet sun ray after the storm.

for once, think about now.
forget what has passed
and peer into possibilities
the present can change
more than what you are used to.
have a courage to change
the world will follow.

to catch a whale,
I need to let go a few things:
the comfort of a silent room,
the fullness of my belly,
and shading my eyes
away from the redoubtable creature.
once I identify the whale
fear will overwhelm
my awaken mind,
and before it freezes my mind,
I need to dive in
and dance with the whale.
